Overview
Tufton Oceanic set up Marine Services (I.O.M.) Limited to provide a comprehensive package of corporate services to the worldwide shipping sector. A politically stable jurisdiction, the Isle of Man is well respected by the OECD and has a favourable and forward-looking tax regime, and enjoys a zero rate of corporate tax as from 2006. The Isle of Man's special position as an offshore centre within the EU customs area makes it possible to benefit form the use of an offshore company whilst satisfying the EU's VAT requirements.
The Marine Services Team has considerable experience in the setting up and management of offshore structures, ranging from simple investment, trading or property and ship-owning companies, to limited partnerships and hybrid companies in various offshore jurisdictions. The team has extensive experience of corporate management for the marine industry, and also of ship and offshore vessel management and accounting and support Tufton Oceanic's Asset Backed Investment management function.
